Using Astro.js paired with Wix Headless CMS, it gives businesses a fast, SEO-friendly website that's actually easy to manage. I used a Glasgow tea room as the example to show how flexible this template can be - but it works great for pretty much any type of business.

I started this project because I kept seeing small businesses struggle with getting a decent website up and running. The main issues? Most solutions are either too expensive, too complicated, or require ongoing tech support that small businesses can't afford. So I mapped out what these businesses actually need: a way to showcase their services, connect with customers, and show up in Google searches. I created a site structure that makes sense for both business owners and their customers, focusing on the stuff that actually drives business - clear service information, easy contact options, and fast loading times.

Design Process

The design is clean and modern but totally customizable. I wanted something that looks professional right out of the box but can be tweaked to match any business's personality and branding. Everything is built mobile-first because let's be honest - most people are browsing on their phones these days. The layout adapts smoothly whether you're on a desktop, tablet, or phone. Business owners can easily swap out colors, images, and content to make it their own without breaking anything.

I chose Astro.js because it's seriously fast. It generates static sites that load quickly and rank well in search engines - two things that really matter for small businesses trying to compete online. The Wix Headless CMS handles all the content management stuff, so business owners don't need to mess with databases or technical backend stuff. I built in ready-to-go components for the essentials: service listings, customer reviews, contact forms, and business info sections. Everything's organized in a way that makes it easy to maintain and update down the road.

# Testing

I put this template through its paces to make sure it actually works in the real world. That means testing on different devices, checking load speeds, and making sure it's accessible for everyone. On the SEO side, I implemented all the important stuff - proper meta tags, structured data, optimized images, and clean code structure. I also tested performance across different internet speeds because not everyone has blazing-fast wifi. The end result? A website that loads quickly and helps businesses get found online.
